Christie graduated from The University of Alabama School of Law in 1994. At Alabama, Christie was a member of both the John A. Campbell Moot Court Board and the award-winning Jessup International Moot Court Team, and she received the award for Best Paper in Discrimination in Employment.
Christie was admitted to practice in Alabama in 1994 and practiced for nine years in Birmingham. Her busy practice there focused on employment law, primarily litigating from the employees’ perspective, in the state and federal courts of Alabama and in the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
From 2003 to 2010, Christie served as in-house employment counsel for Movie Gallery, Inc., a 40,000+ employee, publicly traded company. At Movie Gallery, Christie managed all outside employment litigation as well as complex general litigation, negotiated and drafted all executive employment agreements, severance agreements and employment policies and procedures, and represented Movie Gallery in all employment-related administrative charges and pre-litigation disputes.
In 2010, Christie moved to Louisiana and was admitted to practice here. She is currently “of counsel” at Peragine Law Firm, L.L.C. Her practice is focused primarily in the areas of commercial litigation and employment law, both from the perspective of the employer and the employee.
Christie lives in Mandeville with her husband, Mike, her sons, Will and James, her German Shepherd, Ridley, and her cat, Jeff Carson.
